**If you are on a fresh install of Nobara and are using Nvidia and just want to game, first either make sure you have installed using one of the Nobara Nvidia ISOs:
https://nobaraproject.org/download-nobara/
or have installed the Nvidia drivers via Nobara Driver Manager. **
Open steam, install and run your game with proton, or open lutris and install and run game. That's it.
VULKAN GAMES:
**If you are on a laptop, it starts in hybrid mode. This means your iGPU will be used for OpenGL games, your dGPU will be used for Vulkan games.
**
You do not need to touch or change anything for Vulkan games. This includes any games running in Proton or via WINE with DXVK/VKD3D.
If you want to run Vulkan games on your iGPU, launch it with the DRI_PRIME=0
environment variable setting infront of it.
OPENGL GAMES:
If you want to run OpenGL games on Nvidia dGPU, launch the game with these environment variable options in front of it:
__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
Most games these days use DXVK/VKD3D and rarely use OpenGL.
